Urgent Support Needed for Recovery with a Purpose!

We Need Your Help!

Hey All!

This email is coming straight from Amy (the director) today. I've never used this newsletter channel to send out a request for support, but there's a first time for everything, and if there's anything I have learned in this almost three year time of doing this job, is that I am consistently having the opportunity to do things that are outside of my box.

I'm excited to share that Foodworks Alliance recently celebrated our 10th Anniversary with a wonderful Open House event! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community, showcase our work, and express our gratitude for your support over the past decade.

For those who couldn't make it, you will see all about it in the next newsletter!

I am writing today with a more serious request... for support.

As we celebrate this 10 year milestone (5 Years of RWAP), we also want to bring your attention to a critical need. Our Recovery with a Purpose program is a vital initiative that provides workforce redevelopment for women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. This program offers these women a pathway to self-sufficiency and a chance to rebuild their lives.

Recovery with a Purpose is making a real difference. In fact, two of our trainees have recently secured new part-time jobs!

However, we urgently need your help. To ensure the continuation of this impactful program and to support our dedicated staff, we need to raise funds to cover payroll in the immediate term. Click below to Learn more about our critical need.

Meet Laikkin
Laikkin is a 33 year old mother to two daughters, ages 11 and 10. Her favorite colors are green and purple. Outside of work, Laikkin enjoys reading, cooking, dancing, and singing. She hates peas!
During her time with us, she is eager to expand her knowledge of kitchen appliances and mixers. To date, she has mastered the proper use of knives and the art of baking Bundt cakes, and she is enthusiastic about applying these skills in her own kitchen.
Laikkin recently accepted a part time position and she's just gotten started at her new job. She is hoping to keep her position here at Foodworks for a little bit longer to give her a head start into building her new life during this chapter of it.

Here's how you can make a difference:

Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly help us to continue to empower women in recovery to transform their lives.

Every donation brings us closer to our goal and helps us continue this essential work.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Foodworks Alliance and our commitment to strengthening our local food system and giving women a chance to recreate their lives in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

If you have any questions, ideas for funding, people you think I should meet, conversations you think I should have, I am all ears. My cell phone number is 617-990-7330 and my email address is foodworksalliance.pm@gmail.com

I appreciate every single one of you who signed up for this mailing list.

All the best,

Amy
